Lucknow: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh’s startup ecosystem is witnessing steady and expansive growth. A supportive and business-friendly environment created by the state government is accelerating entrepreneurial activity across the state. This progress is clearly reflected in the growing number of startups recognized under the Start-in-UP initiative, which has now crossed the 3,000 mark.

The state government’s vision is clear to transform youth from job seekers into job creators and this vision is increasingly becoming a reality. According to the latest figures, the number of startups recognized under Start-in-UP in Uttar Pradesh has risen to 3,011, up from 2,905 in December 2025. Within just one month, 106 new startups received recognition, indicating growing confidence among entrepreneurs in the state.
Uttar Pradesh is also strengthening its presence at the national level under the Government of India’s Startup India initiative. In December 2025, the number of Startup India recognized startups in the state stood at 18,568. This figure has now increased to 19,042, with 474 new startups receiving recognition during this period. These numbers highlight Uttar Pradesh’s emergence as a significant center of startup activity at the national level.

During the Yogi government’s tenure, a clear, forward-looking, and result-oriented policy framework for startups has been implemented. Through the Start-in-UP policy, the government provides funding support, mentorship, incubation, technical assistance, and handholding to startups. In addition, the application and recognition processes have been simplified and made transparent to encourage greater participation from young entrepreneurs.

IT expert Pradeep Yadav notes that improvements in law and order, emphasis on ease of doing business, and the expansion of digital governance have had a visible positive impact on the startup sector. Startup activity is no longer limited to major cities; new ventures are now emerging from smaller towns and districts as well. This trend is boosting local employment generation and strengthening regional economies.
